Albertsons does not allow overage so the cashier will adjust the coupon down, but you will still get the product for free.

I don’t shop at Albertson’s for that reason. They will be reimbursed the full $1.25 face plus handling. They should allow the overage to apply to other items in your transaction. (If it is an advertised price, price matach at Walmart, who will allow overage to be appled to other items.)
I have actually filed a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General about Albertson’s coupon policy and got a reply back that they are compliling a file. If more would file a compaint that would be helpful.

Our human is not a huge fan of Albertsons either. But unfortunately this is NOT advertised, so we cannot price match.
We agree, we should be getting the overage towards other items in the basket.
We’d rather have them keep the 25 cents and give us the item for free than paying 44 cents after coupon at Frys.
